Hello. C J here. I was out at a dvd and cd shop the other day as part of shopping and I overheard the cashier say that they have no sales and the economy of the city is horrible, especially for them. So I think 'okay, you're the only dvd shop still in the city. This city has money. What are you selling? Are furries not buying your stuff? We have money.' Then I checked out their list of titles. No, they don't have Lord of the Rings or Gilmore Girls or documentaries or popular TV shows or music video compilations. What do they have?
Crud, that's what. Horror movies and nothing else. Like dumb ones. I walked through their asiles thinking 'okay, this one, white, heterosexual, male, sexist, stupid. This one, white, heterosexual, male, sexist, stupid. Okay, this other one, white, heterosexual, male, sexist, stupid. So these people have no money because they sell garbage no one wants. A furry, like me, would walk into this den of horror movie cult worship and walk out after five minutes.' I walked out after about five minutes, shaking my head.
I've had plans for a while to animate some of my novels. I know being my own publisher that there is no way in hell I'll ever get an actual movie deal. Like never. Don't even contemplate it. Out of the question no. I've spoken to film industry professionals and if I'm not New York Times bestseller I'm not in and never will be. So I guess it's time to replace them all with me. No one's making film the Fandom wants because really no one's ever going to care that much about us. So the Fandom is going to have to source entertainment internally. Anime is nice but I'd like something with furry characters in it on occasion. Anime is like the only genre I'll still watch that I don't hate for abandoning us.
The Astral Chronicle will not be animated. It's designed to only work as a book and never appear even in art. The Astral Chronicle isn't my only novel though. I'm still editing novel two, Impossible Skyline, with a free sample of it available now. It was written with the hope of eventually having it on camera. I can hand draw literally anything, I have cities worth of backgrounds drawn and I can use video editing software already. I'm a talented singer and composer and I can voice act just about anything. I'm going to just make the movie I always wanted and know I'll never have. And I'm going to systematize the whole thing and put the process into a book. Go ahead and license my setting and make one of your own. This will take a while. It's going to happen though. Just one more industry that won't have me. I'm getting sick of it.
