Announcing Minecraft Duskbringer

Hello. C J here. We’re going on another Minecraft adventure today. Here we have a shot of a street in my practice map for making Duskbringer. If you want to know more about Duskbringer look under the Astral Video Games label here and read the two posts from yesterday. They’re mostly samples of the game’s script. Here is the nice little town of Cruelty, situated in the Plains of Deceit in the region of my setting’s Hell known as the Domain of Makelith.

That orange wood above the door indicates the building’s use. It’s a cafe. Here’s the inside.

Those lights? They’re people, coated in brass and made into furniture. The Fallen who rule Hell aren’t just going to go to IKEA and pick up a couple of Swedish made furniture kits. No! The Fallen are really good at interior design so they make their own furniture.

As you can see the tables are also made out of the wailing souls of the damned. Isn’t it festive?

And here’s the cafe, where you can exchange the local currency Hell has for food and beverages. The currency is named Agony and is made by torturing the damned. It’s a nice place to live, isn’t it?

Also when I have enough of this map done in like a year I’ll look into putting it on the official Minecraft Marketplace for sale. They sell maps and this one will be huge by the time I’m done with it. I might even switch the game mode to Survival, make the blocks unbreakable by monsters and add in some adventure or JRPG elements.

The Tunnels Under Haven

Hello. C J here. Walking down the streets of Haven is not always as safe as the city would like people to think. Yes, they have curbed the banditry that plagues the Southern half of the Coastal Road. The Desert Princes whose cities dot the Southern coast of the Southern Continent if anything make the problem worse for themselves with their constant rivalries and politics. So no, a traveller in Haven or in the River Lands is unlikely to meet a bandit or other criminal sort. But then there’s the walking dead to consider. Many of the basements, catacombs and landmarks of Haven have old foundations from before the city had its current name. In ages long past it was one of two competing capitols for the Desert Empire, both of which unified under the first Sand King of the Gold Dynasty, the God-Lion. Fantasy Plus Minecraft Server Project Update One

Hello. C J here. I thought I’d do a Fantasy Plus Minecraft server project update. Here’s the current state of the server. I’ve realized that you can cook over a campfire so I never need ovens. I have installed Blockbench and the Entity Editor Plugin. I have made stats, equipment lists and loot tables on paper for the gold skeleton themed enemies. Most of this will be run off three or four spawn eggs as the skeletons only need to go up in tier rarely and can have armour and weapon options including my spellbooks. I’m assuming this can be done in the entity plugin. I know zombies can spawn with armour sometimes. I will be recolouring the default skeleton to make my version, the sand skeleton. They will be run using mob spawners in the dungeons and in monster camps in the overworld. You cannot destroy them so get used to combat in these regions. Chinese Food That is Very Saucy

Hello. C J here. I read a lot of cookbooks. This is done mostly for fun. I’m currently reading a short but really interesting book about traditional Chinese cooking. The book was written by an Indian author who has clearly researched Chinese food very well but some of the translations of recipes or concepts get a bit strange. I’m currently done the soups and starters section and am onto the section labelled ‘food that is saucy.’ Cool? Is it also savvy? There’s a surprisingly large amount of ketchup in the recipes. No I don’t think I want a recipe for hot and sour soup that is thickened ketchup water with vinegar and a bit of cabbage. No I also don’t want to take a slice of white wonderbread, roll it into a tube, stuff it with canned corn, deep fry it and then top it with sesame seeds. What in God’s name do they eat in China? And why is it specifically an image of white wonderbread? China? Are you okay? I managed to take out the vinegar, water and corn starch that makes up most of the h...
