Hello. C J here. I’m taking some time off from designing Regency and the trilogy. Regency and the trilogy require a lot of planning and that has to be done slowly. The setting I work with has rules and everything I do has to be cohesive with them. I’ve taken enough time off to be able to work on art or a video game again but these two projects are so far away from completion that they don’t really count as work. I have a lot of free time if I’m not working on them. I’ve decided to put that to use.
I know a lot about art and video games. I know how to make a video game. I need an easier, more achievable project for the short term. Introducing my new, less complex, less mathematically demanding project. Quantum Dragon. This is set 40,000 years before the present day of the setting in an era where there were only draconians and the draconians owned the entire setting. Video games in this era of the setting don’t have to follow all the rules I have about continuity and actually allow me to make things up.
The working premise of the video game is as follows. We’re in an era of the setting where no one can die. Combat is with normal weapons, which I either already have assets for or can make, but can’t kill someone. Skip the complex real life magic themed crafting, skip having to hand alter character assets to represent every faction one by one, skip having to worry about if a wall is the right colour for the time period of the continent. Give the player character a gun and a sword and let them have fun.
The main character doesn’t have a name yet but by definition will be a draconian. The draconian is some sort of normal professional with a ship who can recruit allies and is trained in combat. It’s a slice of life game about being in a hard science fiction setting with some magic thrown in and combat as well. In this time period no one knows how either science or magic work and both are viewed as dangerous. It’ll be open world and past here I’m going to make it up as I go.
This will be fun to design and once named I can start writing dialogue for our main character. I think I’m going to stick with the theme of having all the video game main characters be silver in colour. I can recolour character assets, make structures and make weapon and gun assets already so none of that is a challenge. I’m not planning too complex of a story so the character and you playing them have some freedom. I am making something fun for the fun of it. I’ll post more when I have more decisions made.

Hello. C J here. Walking down the streets of Haven is not always as safe as the city would like people to think. Yes, they have curbed the banditry that plagues the Southern half of the Coastal Road. The Desert Princes whose cities dot the Southern coast of the Southern Continent if anything make the problem worse for themselves with their constant rivalries and politics. So no, a traveller in Haven or in the River Lands is unlikely to meet a bandit or other criminal sort. But then there’s the walking dead to consider. Many of the basements, catacombs and landmarks of Haven have old foundations from before the city had its current name. In ages long past it was one of two competing capitols for the Desert Empire, both of which unified under the first Sand King of the Gold Dynasty, the God-Lion. It was never his place of residence and both the other capitol and the rest of the Desert Empire are long since buried under the dunes. Well, people like to assume they’re buried. People wo...
