Hello. C J here. I’ve got some progress on Project: One Niurn. I’m accompanying this post with some art in my new style to show some of what this project will look like when it’s done. Here we have a first draft of a cat monster head and a green arm. I’ve narrowed the list of races I want in the final product down to eight, removing a few of the original set of ten or so because they were kind of duplicates.
For our obligatory necessary green characters we have Green Dragons, who are full green with black stomachs. For the more human like races we have Frost Dragons who are pale silver, Pale Wolfkin who are pale grey with some scales and Brass Wolfkin who are a copper colour with the same scales. For the more nature or arcane races we have Sun Kin, Night Kin and Brass Kin. These are the same breed as the main character from the video game trilogy. They are all one colour each, are tall and thin and have rounded noses. For the cat like race we have Tiger Dragons and I’m debating drawing more faces with a variety of coloured stripes on them.
Next up is the list of items in the game. Yes, I am being this literal with this. I’ve looked through the potions and outlined some potion items to put on the final cards so people playing Quantum can buy or craft them. I know how these rules work in Quantum and they’ll be in the next update. I want more items so I’m going to go through the list of other items I remember from the game and find uses for them. Spells are next. Fun thing, the spells in Skyrim aren’t made by the player like in previous games. Skyrim has a set list that you can learn from books. If you have a duplicate book you can sell the extra copy of it. This worked well in the original game, making spells more like weapons you can buy and sell.
I’ve narrowed the ideas I have for the locations and world map down to the following. The continent is divided into three regions, Northreach in the North, Empire’s Heart in the centre and Southwind in the South. Northreach is more tribal and builds houses of wood. Empire’s Heart is magic themed and builds graceful houses of stone and metal. Southwind is based out of roving clans and builds out of plaster and tiles due to the heat. One nation, three regions, three colour sets to work with for the backgrounds. Any race can be found in any region but some cluster with their own culture. I need to look into clothing I can draw and pick what race wears what.

Hello. C J here. Walking down the streets of Haven is not always as safe as the city would like people to think. Yes, they have curbed the banditry that plagues the Southern half of the Coastal Road. The Desert Princes whose cities dot the Southern coast of the Southern Continent if anything make the problem worse for themselves with their constant rivalries and politics. So no, a traveller in Haven or in the River Lands is unlikely to meet a bandit or other criminal sort. But then there’s the walking dead to consider. Many of the basements, catacombs and landmarks of Haven have old foundations from before the city had its current name. In ages long past it was one of two competing capitols for the Desert Empire, both of which unified under the first Sand King of the Gold Dynasty, the God-Lion. It was never his place of residence and both the other capitol and the rest of the Desert Empire are long since buried under the dunes. Well, people like to assume they’re buried. People wo...
