Hello. C J here. I’ve named the continent in the Quantum timeline I’ve been working on. I mean the Skyrim themed one. My project to parody Skyrim has concluded successfully with the following list of things. I have a list of species who live there. I’ve named the continent and its planet Niurn – The Land of the Ancestors and the three regions of the planet that are inhabited as Northreach, Empire’s Heart and Southwind. I’ve decided there are Nine Ancestors who their culture pray to.
I’ve made up a list of staple food items and recipes for generic fantasy cards for Halcyon, the Quantum timeline card game. Halcyon will also have a spell crafting system with different types of essence as the ingredients. This is a lot of useful stuff. Time to move on. I have a long list of further projects. Now that I know what I’m doing I’m not really concerned about doing them in order. I’ll work on drawing all of this once I have a larger batch of the planning done in total. Here is the current list.
Fantasy MMO
The Fantasy MMO genre has a lot of ideas that don’t, in my opinion, really add up to gameplay I enjoy. There are, however, anthro races in almost all of them. I’m going to look into some of these and see what I can draw inspiration from.
Generic Fantasy
There is a vast list of generic fantasy ideas and creatures that I’ve avoided working with so far in any of my projects. I might be able to rebrand them as draconains and make them use the magic draconians use in my setting.
Hard Science Fiction
One of the regions of the galaxy being settled in the setting is Dreamscape. Dreamscape is a vast galaxy wide cluster of city ships and space stations supporting whole landscapes and ecologies. There are a lot of science fiction ideas here that I can work with.
Dark Science Fiction
This setting needs something in it besides light and splendour. Penumbra is a region of the galaxy where the galaxy sends the dangerous or magically useful ones. Penumbra is like its own small Hell where Hell is actually probably nicer than it. Here people become monsters and invent dark sorcery for its own sake. Again, there’s a lot to work with here.
These are my thoughts so far.
C J Mcpherson
Hello. C J here. I read a lot of cookbooks. This is done mostly for fun. I’m currently reading a short but really interesting book about traditional Chinese cooking. The book was written by an Indian author who has clearly researched Chinese food very well but some of the translations of recipes or concepts get a bit strange. I’m currently done the soups and starters section and am onto the section labelled ‘food that is saucy.’ Cool? Is it also savvy? There’s a surprisingly large amount of ketchup in the recipes. No I don’t think I want a recipe for hot and sour soup that is thickened ketchup water with vinegar and a bit of cabbage. No I also don’t want to take a slice of white wonderbread, roll it into a tube, stuff it with canned corn, deep fry it and then top it with sesame seeds. What in God’s name do they eat in China? And why is it specifically an image of white wonderbread? China? Are you okay? I managed to take out the vinegar, water and corn starch that makes up most of the h...
