Hello. C J here. I’ve thoroughly checked my list of projects for the time being. I’ve published Heart and Fur. I’ve finished the core rules of Legend – Quantum the card game. I have the full text of the first several Quantum card packs out. I can print and sell it and Heart and Fur in person. I own the technology to do this. The Partnership deal is typed up and I have the Patreon mostly set up. My only actual project is to plan out the setting for my first video game in the setting, Glaive. Glaive is set in the card game and both are within my setting as a whole.
I want something to read. This is related, I promise. A lot of game companies have done marketing by paying people to write novels, short story anthologies, or even entire sourcebooks in their setting and with their characters and then releasing them as free downloads. The job I do doesn’t cost money in any meaningful amount. I have money to spend on the job. I want more books that I like including RPG games. I think it’s time to start reinvesting my funds in the fandom.
Here’s my plan. Go hang out on BARQ and Facebook in the furry writing and art groups. Hire people to write things in my setting with my characters. What do I need written? Anything. I’m really not picky but I want more stuff with my magic engine and all the spells in it. I can probably find people on Facebook and BARQ who I can pay to write short fiction, novellas, or entire chapters of game products for me. Then I can release them as free marketing and I also get books to read that I like. Graphic novels count as well.
There’s a lot of my setting that I won’t get time to draw or write about for years. Nebula is an interstellar space empire run by two of the gods who left Heaven in the Fall. Nebula is dark science fiction themed and has its own set of playable races. What about an RPG set just there? Or a series of novels about some of the characters I have planned for it? What about Hunter? Hunter is a planet of animal folk who inadvertently transformed all life on the planet into sentient machines including themselves.
If we need a core dice engine I can make one. Typesetting and proofreading I can do. I can do art if no one else wants to and I know exactly what colour to make the backgrounds. I could do all the backgrounds for a book and let other people do the characters. I’m willing to give people almost absolute freedom here so long as the result is in my magic engine and doesn’t kill any characters I own. These are my thoughts.

Hello. C J here. Walking down the streets of Haven is not always as safe as the city would like people to think. Yes, they have curbed the banditry that plagues the Southern half of the Coastal Road. The Desert Princes whose cities dot the Southern coast of the Southern Continent if anything make the problem worse for themselves with their constant rivalries and politics. So no, a traveller in Haven or in the River Lands is unlikely to meet a bandit or other criminal sort. But then there’s the walking dead to consider. Many of the basements, catacombs and landmarks of Haven have old foundations from before the city had its current name. In ages long past it was one of two competing capitols for the Desert Empire, both of which unified under the first Sand King of the Gold Dynasty, the God-Lion. It was never his place of residence and both the other capitol and the rest of the Desert Empire are long since buried under the dunes. Well, people like to assume they’re buried. People wo...
