Hello. C J here. I've been busy recently. Really busy. Like, full time busy. Doing what? Playing Pokémon. Like hours of Pokémon. Specifically I'm not playing Go or any of the new more modern generation of games. I'm back to the classics. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team. The best game ever made in my opinion. No, really, the best one. You wake up one day in the body of a Pokémon in a world full of just them. Unlike the sequels the original Red and Blue Rescue Team are heroic and full of classic old pixil charm.
No, I'm not payed to say this. I haven't suddenly joined forces with Nintendo. Nintendo is back in my good books now that this specific game is available on our family online plan on the Switch. The Switch is now my new favorite gadget. Okay, back to the point. I'm playing kind of an excessive amount of this game now that I'm done learning to code and I've got my next ten card game sets planned out. It's fun. It's also probably healthy. I need time off my job, although I'm not sure if this counts.
I'm reliably getting really useful ideas from the game. The game is a level based RPG with a currency and items. The dungeons can be repeated to level or to do non story missions. The Pokémon in each dungeon are chosen unique each and each one is random in layout each time you enter it. You can only save between them not in one. There is also a plot and you are strongly good Pokémon for being willing to help others. All enemies are recruitable but there is a stable main character duo. I wound up being a machop with a pikachu ally.
I'm getting amazing ideas from the game. Each run through a mission and I find new ideas for characters and their interactions. My point is games are healthy. That's why I make them. This is a perfect example of the style I want. I find I'm sleeping better, am less hungry and can tolerate the cold weather better. I just have one rule. Don't play games while hungry and stay hydrated. They're hard. I've died five times so far and I'm not past the prologue. I'm a game designer and I appreciate the challenge. So if I post a conspicuous amount of Pokémon themed content or Pokémon parody content, you've been warned.
