Hello. C J here. I have one last task to do in order to set up this website. I need a Contact page with my social media on it. You’d expect Facebook and X along with maybe tiktok or Instagram. Nope. I’ve reliably learned that these platforms are not the right place to meet people. My goal here isn’t some strange abstract concept involving keywords in a post’s heading text or content saturation by day at 4 AM EST. No, I actually want to meet people and not bots and Avon salespeople.
I’m sticking to the social media for the Contact page that I know I can manage and that I know I can use. BARQ, thank god, exists. I make mostly furry stuff and that furry stuff needs to find people who are already in the fandom and that means BARQ. I’m also on Discord and I will be launching a ton of my art and text on SoFurry. Discord and SoFurry were picked very carefully as my other two I can manage at once. But there’s a rule I’ve learned about what social media works and what doesn’t.
I’m trying to meet furries but furries who would enjoy my games. So I need people who are in the fandom who play games. The sad truth is that most board games such horribly and so we the fandom don’t have a board game enthusiast community. We have a Minecraft community though and it spans several social media platforms. Minecraft is a great game. My point is that we have taste. The largest group on BARQ is the BARQ Video Games group and they’re on a couple other applications as well. They’re a great community.
I need to meet people who have taste because my games are supposed to be actually fun. If you find fun on the internet then you find us, the fandom. The fandom like games. So I’m sticking to the gaming groups or chats within these social media platforms. I’ve found that so long as I do this I reliably find people and not people selling me the next generation of the ShamWow. The community is more important than the medium. This sounds like what we do as a fandom. The fandom work together, mostly to beat games. The page itself will take a while because the page isn’t my main goal but it’s being worked on.

Hello. C J here. I read a lot of cookbooks. This is done mostly for fun. I’m currently reading a short but really interesting book about traditional Chinese cooking. The book was written by an Indian author who has clearly researched Chinese food very well but some of the translations of recipes or concepts get a bit strange. I’m currently done the soups and starters section and am onto the section labelled ‘food that is saucy.’ Cool? Is it also savvy? There’s a surprisingly large amount of ketchup in the recipes. No I don’t think I want a recipe for hot and sour soup that is thickened ketchup water with vinegar and a bit of cabbage. No I also don’t want to take a slice of white wonderbread, roll it into a tube, stuff it with canned corn, deep fry it and then top it with sesame seeds. What in God’s name do they eat in China? And why is it specifically an image of white wonderbread? China? Are you okay? I managed to take out the vinegar, water and corn starch that makes up most of the h...
