Hello. C J here. I’m continuing to work on planning in person events in Kingston and the Islands, Ontario, Canada where I live. I’ve been trying to get some of the local fandom to meet up. Reliably I am getting nowhere. Furries don’t meet in person. Here I thought I could change that. I guess furries really are horrible at having social lives. I am kind of disappointed about this. I also need to find people I can trust to help make my next round of products for the company. I’ve got a budget for this that I’ve spent none of.
Running this company doesn’t really require money. I’ve trained or retrained in mostly free software and I use free Google properties like Blogger and YouTube for posting the content I make. I know that in the model companies are supposed to operate under there’s an operating budget for the year and maybe a research and development budget as well. I don’t have either. I just have my own personal money. I own a phone and a laptop and those mostly do the job for me. Check out my About page for a list of the entirely free software I do this job with. You can add to that Microsoft ClipChamp for video editing. It’s also free.
I need work done for the company. I’ve tried hunting down furries to do it but reliably furries can’t be found in the world outside of their social media. I need the money spent. I also need, seriously need, outside art for the game Uprising. Uprising is my free print at home card game and it’s funded through the same Patreon everything else is. It’ll be free downloads and I can print them myself and sell them at ComiCons. I guess it’ll just be ComiCons because I can’t find anyone else who will leave their house.
So I really appreciate the people who have already or who will join my Patreon but that money is allocated entirely to myself. This is a good thing, sort of. I can spend money on myself but, unlike the Lorde song, I really don’t need to own a Bengal tiger. I have things I want though and I’m willing to pay through the nose to get them. First and foremost is novels and second is art. It’s a standard practice for gaming companies to pay authors in their community to write novels for them and then ether sell the novels or release them as free ebooks to promote the games.
I make a great Creative Director when I need to and I own the whole setting. I know that if I find the right five or six authors and have them write a novel collaboratively with me doing the proofreading we can make something absurdly good. Then I can take company profits and get what I really want, a good novel to read. Or a ton of them. Yes, some of this money will be spent on me. I eat a lot of really nice food and I travel with my family. This is fine. But I really, really want there to be more novels in existence than there are.
I’m not marketing on Facebook because I don’t approve of their absolute very tolerance policy for even educational adult content. This is not fair. Facebook though does have dozens of huge, 50,000+ people author, musician and artist groups. I might need to continue using it for social life. I’m hoping I can recruit here for making things with my company. And there at a ton of public event planning groups in Kingston and the Islands, Ontario. I’m hoping to start doing barbecues again or a potluck near the Summer Solstice and these might help recruit.
The rules for writing with my company are as follows.
I pay in multiples of 3,000 words, plus or minus 100. This is one chapter. I pay $10 US a page, which means at font size 12 it’s $50 US per chapter. So far I’ve had good luck with this price. I’m allowed to tip. People are allowed to write more than one chapter each.
Be nice to my characters! I like them. Also you don’t own them and they’re the heroes so don’t harm them.
Write your strengths. Each author should stick squarely to their comfort zone and I can intersperse their chapters with each other to make the final novels. Each chapter is credited to the author who wrote it. I can also give some of their social media links. If someone writes action well, shopping well, introductions well, or conclusions well I’ll play to their specialty.
Don’t tell me the ending! I want to be surprised.
I’ll do the continuity and grammatical proofreading after I’ve read all the chapters in order for enjoyment. The authors will have input if I change anything.
You can make up a character just don’t ever be racist, sexist, homophobic, or similar.
I think these rules are reasonable. The price is negotiable upwards but I think that much sounds reasonable. My budget this year is $2000. It’s still there. My family might want in on this as well. Can anyone write a good Agatha Christie style mystery set in a rural farming town in Northern Ascala with slight supernatural elements? I’ll pay for that.

Hello. C J here. I've got four new recipes for everyone here. We have everything from Chinese chicken to homemade hot apple cider. Enjoy. The Emperor’s Potatoes Here we have the first food item I ever finished designing for Food of the World – Carthia. I tried three combinations of traditional Asian ingredients and pasta under the assumption that I was doing Italian-Chinese food for the book. I could not for the life of me get any of them to be exciting. They were fine. I don’t eat fine. I got bored of the pasta thing and then thought to myself, ‘what happens if I swap the pasta for another starch? What about a potato?’ It worked. Really well. It worked so well I named them The Emperor’s Potatoes. They’re mashed potatoes and I left the skins on because I like vitamins and then that got me thinking about the traditional medicinal food of Ancient China, ginger. Could I put ginger in a potato dish and have it work? Yes. I can. That surprised me. Be warned, these are almost dangerousl...
