Welcome to Ascala

Hello. C J here. I’m mostly wrapping up some of the last planning for Eternity today, in particular the Quantum Expansion set Song of Eternity. Quantum will feature the whole region in all its steampunk beauty. Uprising will also feature more detailed locations and character biographies. Uprising is now being made using AI art because I’m having fun seeing what the medium can do. The project here will just be tons of typing and art from now on for Song of Eternity. None of this requires math anymore.

I’m thinking about what I’m doing next and if I want the next Expansion after Eternity to happen at all I should start working on it now. Ascala is my next planned setting region with its card set Five Million Strong. I’m also thinking about my project to draw all the first three generations of Pokemon as humanoid characters as inspiration for the species in my setting. I thought, why not put the Pokemon in Ascala? I’ll have to draw every species my setting has to do it and allocate them to part of the city but this sounds like a good idea.

I might even theme the Districts of the city after Pokemon types. One of the goals for Ascala and Five Million Strong is to create a generic fantasy city where everyone’s fursona can live and work together. These ideas will work together well. Here’s a totally new piece of art that happens to look like a pikachu set in the city. This pikachu is a species called Astrals. Astrals are living energy and this breed can shapeshift at will. More soon.

Chocolate and Barbecue Sauce and Truffles Oh My

Hello. C J here. I've got two new recipes for everyone today. I meant to type up a third but for the life of me I can't find the paper index card I wrote it down on. I will have to make it again and post it later once I double check I have the right proportions. I know what's in it but the proportions are done by taste. It's for Asian style ginger baked beans as part of my Asian-barbecue book I'm working on. The book might actually end up being cards for the card game because the recipes are so simple they fit in that format. That makes my job easier. Here's our two recipes for today. The first is a new Asian style barbecue sauce I invented from scratch. This isn't based on an existing sauce. It's the product of a lot of planning and research. It's great. The second recipe is for my final draft scratch made dark chocolate. This stuff is good. I still have some of the batch I made three days ago on hand. It's too tasty to eat. There will be a mil...

Let's All Be Friends, No Really - Part Two

Hello. C J here. I’ve updated my plans to make a Discord server for everyone here and on Facebook. Making a Discord server to my knowledge costs money. However, making a Facebook group does not. I’ve made a few of those over the years as well for various reasons. I’m going to look into this soon and then add the links here and in the menus here as well. I’m certain a Facebook group is what we need. I’m planning a number of chats within the group. So far my current plans are as follows. Art and Artwork Health and Wellness Food and Baking Magic and Spirituality Writing and Software NSFW I’m planning a private group but if I can get it open entry without a form or sign up page or anything. As for rules I’m going to reuse some from past of these I’ve done. Everyone is Welcome Be Polite Advertising is Allowed Follow the Content Ratings The Facebook group will take some planning but not any actual effort to build. It’s that simple. Thanks. C J Mcpherson

Four New Recipes for January

Hello. C J here. I've got four new recipes for everyone here. We have everything from Chinese chicken to homemade hot apple cider. Enjoy. The Emperor’s Potatoes Here we have the first food item I ever finished designing for Food of the World – Carthia. I tried three combinations of traditional Asian ingredients and pasta under the assumption that I was doing Italian-Chinese food for the book. I could not for the life of me get any of them to be exciting. They were fine. I don’t eat fine. I got bored of the pasta thing and then thought to myself, ‘what happens if I swap the pasta for another starch? What about a potato?’ It worked. Really well. It worked so well I named them The Emperor’s Potatoes. They’re mashed potatoes and I left the skins on because I like vitamins and then that got me thinking about the traditional medicinal food of Ancient China, ginger. Could I put ginger in a potato dish and have it work? Yes. I can. That surprised me. Be warned, these are almost dangerousl...
