Hello. C J here. A few updates for today. I’m mostly taking the weekend off but I wanted these in print before I forgot. I’ve updated the Dragon Engine page and as usual with the Dragon Engine project I’ve amalgamated several ideas into one brand name. Imagine, Duskbringer and a few of my other game development projects make more sense being game modes in Dragon Engine. See the Dragon Engine page for more detail.
Also, the Google Play Store doesn’t regulate user generated content so long as there are safeguards and proper guidelines in place. The game has tools built in for user creativity and what players or users do with that is up to them. The first region I want to depict is South District Ascala and the characters who live there. I’ve added in some details about how quests are structured. There are separate types for social life and dating as well as scenes of romance. Check out the page for more. All of these can be user-generated with the existing maps and character models.
I’m also continuing to find uses for Facebook. I learned that posting something to the Facebook main feed is a lot more effective than posting it on my CJMcpherson page. Using this, I’m planning on launching a few events. First up, I want a book lover’s hiking day while the Spring and Summer weather permit. There are amazing parks here and I’m sure any book lover would enjoy hanging out and discussing what they’re reading, myself included. I might also try to schedule a barbecue potluck in some of the parkland near my house for later in the Summer. Good, ideas written down. Back to reading.

The Emperor’s Potatoes Here we have the first food item I ever finished designing for Food of the World – Carthia. I tried three combinations of traditional Asian ingredients and pasta under the assumption that I was doing Italian-Chinese food for the book. I could not for the life of me get any of them to be exciting. They were fine. I don’t eat fine. I got bored of the pasta thing and then thought to myself, ‘what happens if I swap the pasta for another starch? What about a potato?’ It worked. Really well. It worked so well I named them The Emperor’s Potatoes. They’re mashed potatoes and I left the skins on because I like vitamins and then that got me thinking about the traditional medicinal food of Ancient China, ginger. Could I put ginger in a potato dish and have it work? Yes. I can. That surprised me. Be warned, these are almost dangerousl...
