Hello. C J here. I’m still working on planning out my next portrait for The Astral Ten, the ten player cards for the Quantum Starter Set. The Starter Set will contain the following smaller decks. All of these will be available as free print-your-own PDF decks and I’m home printing a select set each year for sale at conventions and Pride. The Starter Set will always be in print because you need the Starter Set including the complete core rules to play the game at all. I’m also always going to have some of the food cards in print including Food of the Gods, the scratch made chocolate deck.
Core Rules (90 Cards)
The 90 core rule cards are every rule needed to play the game. Not all of the rules and Traits will be used in every set of cards.
The Astral Ten (10 Cards)
The ten most famous Astral Travellers as our ten playable characters. They have a variety of genders, sexual identities and ethnic heritages.
Ascalan Armoury (20 Cards)
The 20 starting equipment cards for armour and weapons with a modern day theme.
Food of the City (10 Cards)
The 10 food cards for the Starter Set themed after modern day food.
Life in the City (10 Cards)
Ten Lore cards containing notes about the city’s culture that also contain the game’s goals and tasks for players to complete.
People of the City (20 Cards)
The 20 most important business people and mercenaries in the city for use as partners in the game’s social themed combat engine. All characters in Heart of Glass so far are in this deck including Blue and his friends.
Topaz Gems (20 Cards)
A mix of basic gem cards and advanced gem cards for Topaz to pay for food cards in that gem colour.
Ruby Gems (20 Cards)
A mix of basic gem cards and advanced gem cards to buy and craft Ruby items.
This is going to involve a lot of art. Also chapter three of Heart of Glass is up for download now in the Novels page. I’m already laying the plans for the second novel in the series. The theme of the first novel is vacation time, as multiple characters take breaks from their jobs and find ways to entertain themselves. The second one requires a theme and I think I’ve picked it today.
Ascala is where these are set and the city has a unique approach to education compared to the modern day world in real life. It’s a joint effort between private businesses who own convention complexes and the economic division of their government. Ascala turned all of their hotels and business convention centres into schools at some point in their history and the business model stuck. My thought was that someone could run an adults only home based school, which is perfectly allowed by their rules. The story might span a year and follow Blue and his friends as they help set it up, attend classes at someone’s home and also meet new relationship partners. This is being planned out now.

Hello. C J here. Walking down the streets of Haven is not always as safe as the city would like people to think. Yes, they have curbed the banditry that plagues the Southern half of the Coastal Road. The Desert Princes whose cities dot the Southern coast of the Southern Continent if anything make the problem worse for themselves with their constant rivalries and politics. So no, a traveller in Haven or in the River Lands is unlikely to meet a bandit or other criminal sort. But then there’s the walking dead to consider. Many of the basements, catacombs and landmarks of Haven have old foundations from before the city had its current name. In ages long past it was one of two competing capitols for the Desert Empire, both of which unified under the first Sand King of the Gold Dynasty, the God-Lion. It was never his place of residence and both the other capitol and the rest of the Desert Empire are long since buried under the dunes. Well, people like to assume they’re buried. People wo...
