Hello. C J here. Who do I tell? This is a question I ask myself sometimes. Let me explain. I sell spiritual and science concepts on cards and in books like Heart of Glass. To qualify in my books as either spirituality or science it needs to be useful. So as a result I have a lot of useful knowledge lying around. Things like very scientific practical advice about the study of lucid dreaming, tips to use hypnosis for health and lift strength and what vitamins in combination are good for what gland or muscle group.
Who needs to know these things? More importantly, who has use of them? I don’t think there’s ever been a furry fandom member who doesn’t want a bit of magic. We typically follow the modern trend and call it hypnosis and a large part of my job here making cards with educational content on them is mapping the depths and pathways through that concept to see what it can do. So, a furry fandom member already deals in the abstract and in the arcane especially if they’re an artist.
Who else? Who wants this? Most people might not need abstract or arcane things to be happy. Chocolate is probably enough mysticism for most people. Running a shoe shop, a bakery, or a grocery store might be enough social life and enough knowledge. My work is mostly for home office type jobs to help people stay healthy and entertained. It’s not really a matter of whether people care, it’s really a matter of whether they have the spare time. Chocolate in particular takes a lot of stamina out of a person.
There’s an old phrase in a number of religions and old faith practices. I’ll quote it here.
To Dare.
To Know.
To Will.
To Keep Silent.
This poem means a lot to someone who understands its origins. This is the complete set of instructions on how to enter into a faith practice involving rare or useful knowledge. Be willing to innovate. Learn at all times and at any cost. Make the world do what you want it to do through action and not simply words. Keep quiet because not everyone understands our ways. Perfect. Perfect phrase. My job is built on these ideas. So, who do I tell what to? Mostly I lead with I’m a fantasy author who writes characters with realistic gender expectations and realistic jobs that actually exist in real life.
At no point in this post am I trying to make any one of these options better than another. I have goals that line up perfectly with some internet fandoms and not others. And not everyone is part of the fandoms at all. Really, no, seriously my policy on marketing these days is to present the most fun and best looking content I have and let people find what they want from it here on the blog or on my other social media. It seems like the most respectful option as well. Shoving content down people’s throats typically doesn’t go over so well on or off the internet.
I actually have more posts for today so I got an early start on typing. Thanks to my knowledge of managing body temperature I slept very well. I’m going to need more coffee, aren’t I?

Hello. C J here. I've got four new recipes for everyone here. We have everything from Chinese chicken to homemade hot apple cider. Enjoy. The Emperor’s Potatoes Here we have the first food item I ever finished designing for Food of the World – Carthia. I tried three combinations of traditional Asian ingredients and pasta under the assumption that I was doing Italian-Chinese food for the book. I could not for the life of me get any of them to be exciting. They were fine. I don’t eat fine. I got bored of the pasta thing and then thought to myself, ‘what happens if I swap the pasta for another starch? What about a potato?’ It worked. Really well. It worked so well I named them The Emperor’s Potatoes. They’re mashed potatoes and I left the skins on because I like vitamins and then that got me thinking about the traditional medicinal food of Ancient China, ginger. Could I put ginger in a potato dish and have it work? Yes. I can. That surprised me. Be warned, these are almost dangerousl...
